Bethany Nazarene College is a fully accredited four year liberal arts college offering majors in twenty-six fields. The Jazz Band is part of a comprehensive music department with eight full time and twelve part-time faculty. There are eight vocal and instrumental ensembles whose members represent majors from almost all of the departments on campus. The B.N.C. Jazz Band continues the excellence in performance which has been established by all the performing ensembles since their inception Although the Jazz Band has been in existence for some fifteen years, this album marks 'just the Beginning" of a new era for the group. Other radio programs were also found on wire recordings in the collection, leading us to believe that these are master recordings from the station. The radio station KLER, which operated in Rochester, Minnesota from 1948-1952, worked in association with the Rochester Ministerial Association to present this program. Mountaintop Meditations was an evangelism program hosted by Reverend G. Preston Bishop, pastor of the Rochester Church of the Nazarene. The guest speaker on this segment was Reverend Carlson from Pennsylvania. </text>
